I like that def. I only thing I dont like are some of these teams we played last year in tournaments they have pretty much a different group of girls every tourn. I think they are cracking down on that but its hard to compare a team that does that( pick up diferent all stars every tourn) Than a good team that sticks with there players and get better the right way.
Then if you are a 2nd year team and go to tourn then you should have to be classified B. That means these 2nd yr teams cant sneak down in C state and try to beat the 1st year teams that should be C. I would like to see More regulations on that with these directors.
you have A,B state that should be all second year teams C First year teams, Rec for all leauge teams.
renegades 96 won C state last year how are they class C this year, Fireballs are a 2nd year team they should be B, Thunder 97 and panther pride should be C, Yes they are good but they are first year they are not going to play against the Starz, Vertigo,Elite in state.
Does illinois have a rec state or rec tourn, or is that there C

flgators.....I agree with you 100% on teams picking up players and having a different roster every time you play them. Last weekend Impact/Elite combined players and went to Cabot and played with C class teams under the name DaWho. If you look at the scores posted online they scored like 29 runs and gave up 1 run. They were definitely playing way beneath their level of classification and I can't believe the tournament director allowed them in this tournament.
But, alas it happens all the time in this state. In the long run they are only hurting their selves by doing this. The teams that stick with their group of girls and teach them how to play are going to be the better teams in the long run (i.e. Vertigo, STARZ, Crush) and will pass up the other teams that pick up players or play beneath their level.
I don't think that just because you are a first year team in an age group that you should automatically be classified a C team either. There are many first year teams that are capable of playing with the 2nd year teams. They may not win every time, but they can compete.

Strike 3 I agree with you on first year teams. Especially since tams some of these 97 teams has 96 Bdays playing on them I know one of the PPride 97 has a 96 pitcher at least they did last fall. If one wanted all 1rst year temas play together then why not just do 11U division?
Thunder 97 and Panther Pride 97 is just as good as Fern Firballs and Regngades. THey have even beat them. In my mindy when you have 1-0 3-4 games then the teams are evenly matched.
From what I seen Hot Shots, Battin Babes 96, Thunder 97, Pant Pride 97, Hot Shotz, Renegades 96, playmakers are fairly evenly matched. Some may be a little stronger than the other but its not a 12-0 games for sure. We played 5 games in our last tournament and every one was within 1 run. Three of them went in extra innings. From what I could see is that AR Starz, Elite are stronger teams and should be classified in a higher level than the ones mentioned above. I believe Renegades has lost some players since last yead and may not be quite as strong compared to last spring.

I asked manager of our team why we were classfied in USSSA AS B, and C in ASA. USSSA moved us up in B last fall. They told our manager they did this cause there was not that many B teams. At the time we had only played in one USSSA tournament and did not place. I will admit the USSSA C teams we played in fall were more like Rec league teams.

i think Panther Pride, Playmakers (mostly 2nd year players) and Ferndale (all second year 12's) are alot better than teams like Hot Shots and Thunder. but i do think if a team wins C state (Renegades) and their team doesnt move to another age division then they should have to step up in class the next year regardless of what they lost. take a team like Hot Shots, i think they are a C class team that has some 2nd year 12's.

Your right if you have 2nd year girls on your team then you should have to play B. Just like the renagades last year pulled 2nd year 12's to go to C state and they are paying the price now. And most teams class them self C so they can drop down and play C state, I still think if you are a 2nd year team you should have to play B. And if your all only first year then you should be C unless you want to play up in B state.

well i just dont think you can go by age....i think Panther Pride 97 and Ar Heat are the top two first year teams and can beat alot of second year teams. by the way, how is Renegades paying the price now? They are still classified as C in both USSSA and ASA.

Yea they should be in B and its going to be like that till they regulate these teams but they arnt playing the top level teams and they are getting beat by the lower level teams, thats a big drop from last year and the price is almost not having enough to make a team and dropping big time from a year ago. And in asa you can talk to your district commish and and they have the power to put them in B state. If you look at some of these teams they might have a good year once in awhile but the teams that dont treat these girls like a market and keep these girls together and develope there talent and dont cut girls all the time will be steady. I have seen girls stick with a coach and give them there heart and then the coach kills there confidence and treat them like trash, and the amazing thing these girls want and look for these coaches acceptance and in the end the girls get out of the sport all together and its sick. I know I got off the subject alittle ***CONTENT REMOVED DUE TO INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE**** YOU as a coach is to develope the girls you have and not rip them apart. You as coaches are a big part in there lives and you create bonds and build there future and you need to be responsible and if you dont want to then get the heck out. Sorry but im very passionate about this.

Polls are just usually conversation topics and the only time you really want to be top is at the end, but here goes... in my opinion two and possibly three of the better teams have been left off the top 13 list, Arkansas Impact & Panther Pride 97 are two. The third is the Bat Breakers, I have not seen them this year but will be watching this weekend at Jville. I believe they are the old Texarkana Xplosion which mostly played in L.A. and East Texas (Texas Suxs)Hog in me can't resist. PP 97 being classified "C" is a joke, they won all three state tournaments as 10U and have not lost any key players and have added a couple of new starters. Them & Ar.Heat will compete with the best in the state as first year teams and will win some games. This weekend in Jacksonville should have some great 12U games.

How about the school of thought that there are no true A teams in the state of arkansas, get that from many parents and coaches of higher age groups IN arkansas...also the reason the top teams go play out of state to play better comp...which I know can be argued as time goes by and the talent is progressing season to season arkansas can catch up...but to the point of this poll, if elite, starz, and the rest are B, then 1st year or second year, aren't ferndale, renegades, thunder, even panther pride, just C, where the teams that don't stay within 6 runs of them more REC than C??? Then just like our B teams go play out of state, our C teams should go play our B teams, and therefore our rec teams are getting good from playing our C teams.

DirtClod....agree with you 100%, Impact and PPride 97 should both be on the list. I believe that the only teams mentioned were the ones that got votes, and only 7 coaches voted. If the coaches voting have not seen or played Impact and Pride 97 they might not know how good they are.

Bat Breakers aren't from this area, so none of us have seen them play yet. That's probably why they are not on the list.

Our teams name was mention on one of the forums criticizing us for signing up for C class Jo Tournament cause we are second year 12U.
Just cause second year 12 should not determine classification. If thats the case why not make tournament 11U?
OK here is a few things need to know about the one of the teams people are saying they should play up in B. BTY doesn't AR ASA have a REC div and c Division.
1. 8 out of 9 of our players to my knowledge came from rec teams and had little or no tournament experience when we was formed last year.
2. We have one player that has never played on a team prior to picking her up last fall.
3. We have never placed higher than 3rd in a tournament
4. All of our games this year have been competitive. Most by 1 or 2 runs.
So tell us why should we make our girls who have worked hard to get better move up a class to make it more difficult to play up.
Saying this we do not like to play true rec teams that have weak pitching and would be a 15-0 etc. Although we have ran into these teams, but it has not been very often.

Rec teams should play in a league on tuesdays and thursdays only one month out of the year. class c should be your begining travel teams with much to be desired, teams who are still finding theirself. Class B should be teams with couple of great pitchers and catchers with outfield as good as infield and great bats. A class whats the difference, maybe the top five of B class. So we should have a D class so we can have the top 5 of c class with the B's. lol I dont know just my opinion dont mean much. thanks

We have five 12 yr old girls on our team, but I can arrange them and be beaten by a rec team easily. I have two 11yr girls that came from a c class travel team. and three 11yr who came from league. It hurts a little when they come up to bat. Sure I would love to have all 12yr old girls from the same area who can practice everyday and who have been traveling for a while, but sorry cant find em. So then I pulled several from league ball to fill my roster. Now the challenge is keeping them together, happy, and away from drama, to make my team complete. Your super stars are always looking to be on the best teams. You have to win some to keep them happy and lose some to teach them the game. Anyways just my opinion.
