5th Annual Pitch for the Cure
June 11-13 2010
Pitch for the Cure is a girls' fastpitch softball tournament that raises funds for Chicks Charities but also has additional global ambitions attached to it. We connect regional youth to fight against breast cancer and empower girls to be active for change in their communities.
The 5th Annual Pitch for the Cure is presented by Northwest Arkansas Fastpitch Softball Association dba Springdale Chicks, in special partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure Ozark Affiliate. Since creating and presenting the first Pitch for the Cure in 2006, we've raised $62,000 for Susan. G. Komen for the Cure.
- Our early bird registration deadline: Registrations postmarked by April 1, 2010 (or payments received online prior to April 1st) save $25.00 off the regular $245.00 fee! Plus these early teams are registered in a bonus drawing.
- All tournament games and activities will take place in NW Arkansas. We use the J. B. Hunt Softball Complex and Tyson Sports Complex in Springdale, Gary Hampton and Lake Fayetteville parks in Fayetteville plus Doc Wheeler Park in Rogers.
- This is a DOUBLE POINTS USSSA weekend!
- Pitch for the Cure provides all game balls and scorekeeping.
- At team check-in, players receive a player gift bag with great giveaway products from our sponsors and supporters.
- First place teams in each bracket will receive softball helmets with face guards for the entire team!
- Individual awards are presented for 1st-4th place teams.
- Other team, group and individual contests take place during the weekend.
- Award and Breast Cancer Tribute Ceremonies take place on Saturday evening.
- Teams can pre-order event shirts to guarantee sizes and colors are received before sell-outs.

In 2009 we hosted 142 teams. Our space sold out about a month in advance with paid registrations (one bracket was closed earlier than that) and some teams weren't able to be fit in. The goal for 2010 is 150 teams. Don't miss it! If you have any questions about our event, please be sure to let me know. I'm always happy to help!

Hey guys~
We've got lots of hotels posted on our site for PFTC. They are listed earlier than any other year plus there are twice as many than we've ever worked with!
Each hotel has their own small page on our site. You can see all their details...including their distance from each park. So you can use that to help judge where you'd like to be located.
For you 8U teams (and maybe some 1st year 10U's) that maybe haven't gone to too many large tournaments.... You'll want to book your rooms early! It will get harder later on to find them.

Pitch for the Cure is tickled pink to announce....
In honor of our 5th anniversary, our 2010 event will be dual sanctioned with both USSSA and VTD. Get those great double points for USSSA AND work towards earning a berth to VTD Nationals in Dallas.
Pitch for the Cure will be a 10U-18U Wild Card Regional event for VTD.
1st through 3rd place will receive guaranteed berths for Nationals.
Plus we're ADDING new prizes:
1st place in each age bracket: PAID ENTRY into either USSSA World Series or VTD Nationals
(This is in addition to the team helmets that we award!)
2nd place in each age bracket: 1/2 PRICE PAID ENTRY into either USSSA World Series or VTD Nationals
Early registration date is April 1st. Save $25 and be entered into the early bonus drawing (event shirts for your players + a dozen softballs).

Even more good news this week:
Ringor Softball is now a Gold Sponsor for Pitch for the Cure plus a vendor. After they vend at the WCWS, they'll be vending at our event. You'll find some of the most awesome cleats made just for fastpitch!
